WE DO NOT HAVE TO PRAY ALONE

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

Romans 8:27

When you get tired, it is hard to accomplish anything. Prayer is no different. It is easy to get tired of waiting for the answer. Even if prayer seems hard or tiring, you do not have to be tired and do it alone.

“Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:27)

We have the Holy Spirit to help us pray. The Holy Spirit will help us pray for things we do not know how to pray. God will bring things to our memory so that we do not have to pray for them alone. The Holy Spirit is there to lead us, help us, and guide us.

It is incredible to know that we can depend on the Holy Spirit. He is there to even encourage us when tired or weak, and even help us when we do not know how or what to pray. We do not have to do it on our own. The Holy Spirit is there to help.

God is always listening to our prayers. He is the one who has invited us to come boldly into His presence. God has promised to be there as we pray.

God has given us His Word to teach us the truth to know how to pray effectively. We find guidance for prayer in God’s Word, the descriptions of God’s ways and thoughts, the examples of Biblical characters, and principles that teach us how to apply divine truth to every area of our life.

God has given us many promises in His Word. These assure us that God will direct our paths, meet our needs, provide us with wisdom, answer our prayers, and cause all things to work together for good to those that love Him as God conforms us to His Son’s image.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” (Romans 8:28-29)

The Holy Spirit intercedes for us because we do not always know how to pray as we should. The Holy Spirit takes our misguided requests and reframes them according to God’s will.

Jesus sits at God’s right hand as our High Priest, interceding on our behalf,

“Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;” (Hebrews 7:25-26)

We are never alone when we pray because the Holy Spirit acts on our behalf. Prayer is an amazing privilege. The next time you come to God in prayer, remember that it is an appointment with God.

Have you made an appointment with God today?
