LISTEN TO HIM

“And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!””

Mark 9:7

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have something important to say, but no one would listen? As Believers, we have all felt the urge and responsibility to share the Good News of the Gospel, but sometimes it seems like no one wants to hear it.

“And a cloud came and overshadowed them; and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!”” (Mark 9:7)

Mark encountered a similar situation when Jesus and the disciples went up to a mountain, and the disciples were unwilling to listen to a warning from God. God spoke to them, and they were afraid.

“Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah”— because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.” (Mark 9: 5-6)

Jesus’ message was not popular at the time because it addressed people’s sin and called them to change. Guess what? It is the same today. The risk of offending people never stopped Jesus from speaking up. Jesus knew that no matter how hard the truth is to hear, avoiding the truth does not change its truth.

Jesus knew God’s words were coming from a God who only wanted to protect and prosper them.

We have been called and chosen by God to deliver a message to the people around us. The message of the Gospel that Jesus died for our sins will not always be popular, but that does not change its validity.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

The messages of good news, truth, hope, and life are life-changing. Even when we find ourselves asking, “Is anyone listening?” keep sharing your story and the good news of being saved by grace through faith in Jesus.

Is there anything you have felt God urging you to say to someone, but you have been too scared to speak up? What is it? Is there anyone in your life that you need to share the good news of Jesus with this week?
