NEW Biblical Worldview Resources

Recent research suggests that only six percent of Americans have a biblical worldview. This means that many of our friends and neighbors — including those who regularly attend church — increasingly do not hold to Christian beliefs and practices. This research also indicates that Christianity’s teachings on abortion, marriage, homosexuality, and other issues debated in the public square are not only misunderstood but seen as dangerous and subversive.

In an effort to combat America’s rampant biblical illiteracy, Family Research Council has launched the Biblical Worldview Series. The series debuted earlier this year and is currently comprised of four publications that explain in accessible, straightforward terms how Christians can think biblically about some of the most pressing and controversial issues they face today.

FRC has provided prayer guides that correspond with each publication and brochure-length versions of the publications that are perfect for sharing. And just in time for the 2020 election, Biblical Principles for Political Engagement is also available in Spanish. FRC plans to translate the other three publications soon.

The four publications currently available are:

Biblical Principles for Political Engagement: By examining God’s Word and exploring the divinely-instituted role of government, this publication explains why Christians ought to be politically engaged and how to do so in a manner consistent with a biblical worldview. Some of the questions addressed in this publication include:

  • Should Christians vote?
  • What are the implications of America’s two-party system?
  • What role, if any, should pastors play in encouraging political engagement among their congregants?

Biblical Principles for Human Sexuality: By surveying key passages of Scripture and consulting the wisdom of theologians throughout church history, this publication helps Christians respond to our culture’s modern objections to the church’s historic teaching on human sexuality and marriage. Some of the questions addressed in this publication include:

  • What does the Bible teach about sexuality?
  • How does God define marriage?
  • What does the Bible have to say about gender?

Biblical Principles for Religious Liberty: By citing evidence from key passages of Scripture and consulting the wisdom of Christian leaders and thinkers throughout history, this publication explains why the Bible can be understood to provide a strong theological foundation for supporting religious liberty and conscience protection. Some of the questions addressed in this publication include:

  • Does the Bible support the concept of religious liberty?
  • Was religious liberty a part of America’s founding?
  • What is the connection between religious liberty and the Great Commission?

Biblical Principles for Pro-Life Engagement: By surveying key passages of Scripture and consulting the wisdom of theologians throughout church history, this publication helps Christians think biblically about abortion and the question of personhood. Some of the questions that are addressed in this publication include:

  • When does life begin according to the Bible?
  • Should abortion be considered murder?
  • How should Christians live in light of what the Bible teaches about human life?

Christians are called to honor God in every aspect of our lives. In a noisy culture with many voices competing for our attention, we pray that these resources will help you hear what God has to say about these important issues, share your biblical convictions with others, and encourage you to grow in faithfulness to God’s Word.
