Paul tells us that we were all bought with a price. We “were bought” with a price means that our redemption was not free, even though it was freely given to us by God.

“For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:20)

The price that was paid to redeem us, set us free from the penalty of sin, and reconciled us back to God was the cost of the “Blood” which was shed by God’s Son, Jesus, on the cross while we were yet sinners who were separated from God because of our sins.

“Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, 14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:12-14)

We are chosen by God to be sent out to preach His Good News to the world around us.

God is calling us to trust Him with our future and our life now and in eternity. Remember, we are not our own because we were bought with a price.

Our redemption was paid with Jesus’ blood, and because of that freedom, we rejoice and be glad in it.
