Softly and Tenderly – A cliff and a flock of Sheep

This tune (Softly & Tenderly) kept going thru my head all night and when I woke up this morning I thought I need to post this out –  Due to a lot of leg pain all night I didn’t get up as early as usual so didn’t get started on my trap line until a bit ago.  I stopped at The Jackson Press and saw this long ago article I sent out many years ago.  I am posting it in here after the song as the two fit so well together, IMHO. The two belong together with another thought that went thru my head this morning.  WHY are so many ignoring the CALL of Jesus?  Why are they believing the lies of Satan and his followers (the sheep going over the cliff)?  It all goes back to the original LIE of Satan to Eve when he told her that they won’t *surely* die (spend eternity in the Lake of Fire).  Eve fell for the LIE and so many continue to ignore God’s Word about there only being two choices for eternity – Heaven with God or The Lake of Fire with Satan.  John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.    All denominational teachings other than this is a LIE.        Alan Jackson singing Softly And Tenderly

I hope this post will awaken someone who has not asked Jesus into their hearts – Do not be one of the sheep going over the cliff.

A cliff and a flock of Sheep

Editor’s Note: This has turned out to be one of the most popular articles we have ever published with over 4,000 reads in the last year. We shall continue to republish each year at this time… good job Jackie.

Back in the early 1990’s I was on one of my many trips to the Capitol in Olympia to talk to legislators about issues of importance.  On one of those visits I had occasion to stop by Rep. Tom Campbells (2nd leg. dist) office where I spotted a most intriguing picture of a flock of sheep headed over a cliff to their death.  At a closer look I spotted one lone sheep going the other direction – against the tide so to speak.  That picture kept popping up in my mind over the years and I have spent a great deal of time trying to locate one like it with no success until yesterday.  In one of my many on line searches for this picture I hit on a link to a sermon by a pastor in Minnesota (my home state).  I went to the link and found the sermon and in it he is talking about THAT PICTURE!!!!  So, I looked up the phone number to his church and called.  Talked to a very nice lady and she sent me links as well as a photograph of the poster there.  I now have the picture (in my computer) and can finally end my many year search for this item.

This picture is absolutely one of those Pictures Worth a Thousand Words
