Update on the Governor’s handing out grants in West Tennessee:

The Governor’s travels during this primary campaign season give new meaning to the old political promise of “a chicken in every pot.” (see note at bottom)

As we already reported, he personally delivered sizable grants to Both Savannah, Tennessee and Brownsville, Tennessee during the week of July 24.

But we neglected to mention the $750,000 he delivered to Parsons, TN. https://news.tn.gov/node/12744

And to top off all this “granting,” on July 23, he delivered more than $1.4 million to Shelby County.  https://news.tn.gov/node/12718

So it looks like Shelby county wins the biggest grant in west Tennessee.

On Monday, besides having breakfast in Jackson, his plans include handing out ice cream in Bartlett, Tennessee.

If you would like to attend, here are the details:

Wonder who is buying the ice cream?

NOTE:  The phrase, ” a chicken in every pot”, was actually coined by King Henry IV of France (1553-1610). The exact quote is “If God keeps me, I will make sure that there is no sharecropper in my kingdom who does not have the means to have a chicken in the pot every Sunday!”  Read more here.
