Basketball…. Thursday Night

Can you image it being anything other than quiet in the Indiana Hoosiers’ locker room, an awkward sort of silence punctuated by the loudly clicking cameras and the most hated and pointless question “How does it feel?” and the hushed answers that can come only from a team that fell far short of its lofty expectations.

The losing team locker room is a hell of a place to be at the end of a game. That becomes more so when it is the last game of the season or the last game, or the last game in college, and for some the last game forever.

Reid Forgrave described it this way ” Yogi Ferrell, Indiana’s freshman point guard whose zero points, one assist and four turnovers aided Indiana’s Sweet 16 downfall against Syracuse on Thursday, cut tape off his ankles. Jordan Hulls, whose 0-for-6 night from 3 hurt Indiana’s chance of scratching its way back from an early deficit, rested his elbows on his knees and looked to the ground as he answered questions about Syracuse’s 2-3 zone. Victor Oladipo, who may have been the only Hoosier to play near his potential with 16 points and three steals, spoke so quietly that reporters kept creeping closer and closer to him until one reporter was stepping on his feet.”

No matter the outcome…. Indiana is back…. and this team brought it…..

Well I told you I didn’t think Miami deserved it, I just thought it would happen in the next round.

Too big, too physical, too quick. Wichita State proved too much of everything for La Salle in a 72-58 victory on Thursday night that put the Shockers into the final eight of the NCAA tournament for the first time in 32 years. I got this one right…..

Ohio State at the buzzer….. One round after a last-second Aaron Craft 3-pointer saved them from overtime against Iowa State, Ohio State did it again Thursday. This time, it was LaQuinton Ross burying a loooong 3-pointer to break a 70-70 tie with two seconds to play.
