Prominent Entry List Fills the Largest Pro Modified Field at the US 131 Motorsports Park Northern Nationals

The wildly popular Crower Pro Modified category has returned home to its rightful birthplace at the 2015 International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Nitro Jam series. The roster of entrants for the US 131 Motorsports Park Northern Nationals presented by Aeromotive (August 7-8) is growing to be the largest field for the season and filled with very notable entries.

“Pro Modified was created at the IHRA and many organizations have adopted versions of the class over the years; but the class has been reborn and is part of our 2015 Nitro Jam events and beyond,” commented Scott Gardner, President of the IHRA. “Not only do we have an outstanding field that has toured the U.S. and Canada this season, we have some very exceptional entrants added to the entry list for the Northern Nationals this weekend.”

As many fans know, this weekend at US 131 is actually two events in one. Friday evening, fans will see Nitro Jam eliminations for the IHRA President’s Cup, which was halted by Tropical Storm Bill back in June. The set field in Pro Modified for Friday eliminations features #1 qualifier, Billy Harper. Hailing from Paducah, Kentucky, the ex-Kentucky gubernatorial candidate has a stand out history as a long time Pro Modified competitor. His current 5.79 ET at 239 mph is the quickest mark so far in 2015 IHRA Crower Pro Modified racing.

  •  Northern Nationals presented by Aeromotive Nitro Jam competition is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 p.m. Saturday.
