The Williamson County Republican Party held their annual Reagan Day Gala on Saturday, Jan. 6, which featured keynote speaker Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who rallied the GOP-faithful for the kick-off celebration of the 2024 election cycle.

The event also featured remarks from Tenn. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, Congressmen Mark Green and Andy Ogles, state party chairman Scott Golden and county party chairman Tracy Miller.

“I think we as conservatives have to remind people what we are fighting for, and we have to educate voters on what we’re doing, and show them that when we take the U.S. Senate, that we’re going to be able to push forward,” Blackburn told the crowd.

Immigration and the ongoing humanitarian crisis at the United States southern border with Mexico was the hot topic among the speakers, as well calling for continued military support for Israel and accountability regarding documents related to deceased pedophile and disgraced financier Jefferey Epstein.

On Wednesday, Green, as chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, took the first formal steps to impeach U.S. Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, who Green called in his Gala remarks “the number one domestic threat to the national security of this country and the safety of Americans.”

Cruz took to the stage invoking the “warrior spirit of Tennessee,” and said that “a moment of powerful change [is] at hand” in 2024, which “presents an opportunity for Republicans to be the party of reason and common sense, unlike these authoritarian, puritanical dictators,” referring to Democrats.
