Elizabeth Warren Warns Constituents About Kid Rock in Fundraising Email

The media may be looking somewhat skeptically at Kid Rock’s potential run for a Senate seat in Michigan, but Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts isn’t. In a panicked email to supporters, everyone’s favorite Native American appropriator sent out a warning that the musician could end up winning the seat now occupied by Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow.

Earlier this week, The Daily Caller reported, the 46-year-old Mr. Rock — real name Robert James Ritchie — confirmed that he was going to challenge for the Republican nomination in the 2018 Senate election in his home state of Michigan, amid press rumors that it was a hoax to promote a new album.

“Once again the press is wrong,” he wrote on his blog. “First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros–which simple fact-checking would have revealed.”

“No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics…..and…..Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind,” he continued.

“I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bulls***!”

This put Pocahontas hot on the warpath.

“I know a lot of people are thinking: this is some sort of joke, right?” Warren wrote in an email smugly titled “Senator Kid Rock (R-MI),” according to the Boston Herald.

“Well,” she said, “maybe this is all a joke — but we all thought Donald Trump was joking when he rode down the escalator at Trump Tower and announced his campaign, too.

“And sure, maybe this is just a marketing gimmick for a new album or tour — but we all thought Donald Trump was just promoting his reality TV show, too.”

The email then linked to a page where users could give a split donation to Stabenow and Warren (Lieawatha has her own 2018 campaign to run, as well, although that’s likely not going to be as contentious as Stabenow’s).

Of course, here’s the rub: The only people who considered Donald Trump’s run a joke are the same choir that Warren continues to preach to. Insulated from the political mainstream, liberals like Warren seem to neglect the fact that America is sick of career politicians — and consider outsiders who try to run for political office a “joke.”

The joke was on them in 2016. Will it be in 2018? With this kind of nonsense, they shouldn’t be so smug.
