Triple-homicide suspect out of Nebraska arrested in Jackson

A triple-homicide suspect out of Nebraska John Dalton Jr. has been taken into custody in Jackson, Omaha Police Department confirmed through a news release.

A felony warrant for first-degree murder had been issued for Dalton Jr., 46, in connection with a triple-homicide that happened in Omaha Tuesday night, according to a news release.

John W. Dalton Sr., 70, his wife, Jean Dalton, 65, and Leonna Dalton-Phillip, 18, all died in the shooting Tuesday night. Dalton Sr. and Jean Dalton were Dalton Jr.’s parents and Leonna was Dalton Jr.’s niece, according to Omaha police.

The Nebraska USMS Metro Fugitive Task Force, the Western District USMS of Tennessee and the Tennessee Highway Patrol coordinated together in efforts to locate Dalton Jr.

The Douglas County Attorney’s Office will coordinate extradition efforts for Dalton Jr. with the County Attorney’s Office in Tennessee, according to the release.
