Why Ship UPS…. to Support the Unions

It has been a long time since we have shipped UPS and we pretty much know why…. because the labor has been hijacked by the teamsters. Our office received the following communications.

On June 22, 2018, UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) announced a tentative agreement was reached on the National Master Agreement for small package. The agreement, which is subject to ratification, covers approximately 246,000 full- and part-time employees in the U.S.

The new agreement provides for our employees while balancing UPS’s need to remain highly competitive for years to come. It rewards our employees for their contributions to the company’s success and ensures we have the flexibility to meet customers’ needs.

We continue negotiations on the UPS® Freight National Master Agreement and a number of local supplemental agreements. Once these are finalized, employees will begin voting to ratify both the national and supplemental agreements. Until the new agreements are ratified, you may see unofficial materials from parties trying to influence the IBT and put public pressure on UPS.

Business continues as usual at UPS. For timely information about the negotiations, visit unionnegotiations.ups.com.
