LeBron James leaves Cavaliers to join Lakers

LeBron James has agreed to join the Los Angeles Lakers in a four-year, $154 million deal, his agency, Klutch Sports, announced Sunday. The four-time NBA MVP and 14-time All-Star is coming off a stellar season. He averaged 27.5 points per game and led the Cavs to the NBA finals, where they lost to the Golden State Warriors. James is the first player in professional basketball history to switch teams after leading the post-season in scoring. It is the second time he has left his hometown team as a free agent. After returning from a six-year stint with the Miami Heat, he led the Cavaliers to Cleveland’s first championship in 52 years, when they became the first team ever to rally from a 3-1 series deficit to win the NBA Finals.
