Robichaud: In mood for fiction? Wait for new projects on Hillary

WHAT, ME WORRY? Hillary Clinton, shown in 2007 during her failed presidential campaign, is sure to be all smiles when two new projects, a CNN movie and NBC miniseries, play loose with the facts of her political career.

When did the Clintons
become the Kennedys?

Just what the world needs is not one, but two movie projects on the so-called virtues of Hillary Clinton. Has Obama set the bar so low that Hillary looks like a good alternative?

With left-wing Tinseltown celebs in the Clintons’ back pocket, the chances of her scandals being included in the CNN film and the NBC miniseries now in the works are slim and none. The film either will be the best example of revisionist history during our lifetime or a two-hour episode of “The Twilight Zone.

”Whitewater will be whitewashed. There is really no good way to glamorize records mysteriously appearing in the first lady’s book room after a two-year search. However, being the first first lady to testify before a federal grand jury could be staged as a “Law & Order” rerun.

The movie should include a Gordon Gekko scene dramatizing Mrs. Clinton’s huge financial success of turning a $1,000 investment into $100,000.Get out your tissues for the Tammy Wynette “Stand By Your Man” moments. Predictably these soap opera scenes will unveil her private distress over a blue dress and how she had to cope all alone in the White House. Blaming the “vast right wing conspiracy” for her husband’s indiscretions will be portrayed as a struggle with the truth.Speaking of betrayal — who will play former Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster? No one. An explanation about his suicide will not be included.

Hillary’s orchestrating the firing of White House travel office staff also will end up on the editing room floor. We would not want to remind voters that the Independent Counsel found she was involved with Travelgate and that she made false statements.

Which story will be told about her visit to Bosnia? Fact or fiction? According to Hillary she landed under sniper fire. However, none of the news reports concerning the first lady’s trip mention any security issues.

Her U.S. Senate victory will be portrayed like the second coming. Never mind that Rudy Giuliani had to drop out due to a cancer diagnosis.

What did Hillary accomplish as secretary of state? As she would say “What difference, at this point, does it make?” Despite the facts, the writers will depict her as one of the greats.

The ending of this movie should leave you heartbroken. When the red phone rang, the woman who advertised during her presidential campaign about being capable of handling that call didn’t answer. Four Americans died due to a terrorist attack, not a protest. That’s no happy ending for those families or our nation and it should be the end of her presidential ambitions.
