PERCEPTION

by Dwight Fuqua

We cannot always control what happens to us. We can control how we react to what happens to us. We can control how we choose to view things.

Paul exhorted, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18). Some question how we can “rejoice always” and “in everything give thanks.” It is a matter of choosing what we view and how we view it.

When Matthew Henry was robbed, he wrote in his diary: “Let me be thankful first, because I was never robbed before; second, because, although they took my purse, they did not take my life; third, because, although they took my all, it was not much; and fourth, because it was I who was robbed, not I who robbed.”

So, how do you view things?

Altitude is largely a matter of attitude! Perception!

What we choose to see!

So, are you looking up or down?
