Henry Harrison, founder of Rockabilly Hall of Fame, dies at 82

He died Monday at the age of 82.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Friday, April 26 at First United Methodist Church. Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services following.

Harrison’s wife, Margaret Harrison, shared the following statement on Harrison’s Facebook page:

“To all of Rockabilly fans over the entire world, Henry Harrison passed away early this morning, April 22, 2019. The International Rockabilly Hall of Fame was his passion. It will remain open in his memory with tour guide Dean Ross for the next several days until decisions have been made for its future.”

Pastor Sky McCracken of First United Methodist Church, where Harrison attended, described Harrison as a Renaissance man. He said Harrison was widely knowledgeable and well read.

We remember him as the man who loved music and his life.

In addition to being the founder of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, McCracken said Harrison was also a boxer and had previously owned a car dealership and a concrete company.
