A Chattanooga man is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge after allegedly running a man over with his car twice.
Matthew Blake Reynolds, 20, is also accused of felony reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest and resisting a stop, halt, frisk, arrest or search.
Chattanooga police responded to a report Tuesday of a person hit by a car at a home on Mountain Creek Road, according to an affidavit in the case. Officers found a man lying on the ground next to a flattened fence.
Based on Tuesday’s events, “Reynolds poses a significant physical threat to victims, witnesses and the general public,” the affidavit said. On Tuesday, “he made numerous recorded threats to continue these activities as soon as he is out of custody.”
