Severe storms and tornadoes tore through Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma Sunday, killing at least 15 people, injuring scores more, and cutting power to hundreds of thousands across the region.
A devastating twister struck a rural area near a trailer park in Cooke County, Texas, killing at least seven, including two children. The storm also destroyed a truck stop where people sought shelter in a restroom.
At least five others were killed in Arkansas and two in Oklahoma. Farther east, the severe weather caused a race delay and the evacuation of 125,000 attendees at the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.
