Roger Simon, the co-founder of PJ Media and author of the Substack “American Refugees,” said former President Barack Obama is hitting the campaign trail for Vice President Kamala Harris leading up to the November 5 general election in an effort to “keep his own office” as he “rules” the Oval Office from the “basement.”
Simon was discussing an article published by CNN on Friday, which reads:
Former President Barack Obama plans to commence a 27-day campaign sprint for Vice President Kamala Harris next week in Pennsylvania, an adviser to the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign said, hoping his star power among Democrats can help propel her to the office he once held.
Obama’s plan to campaign for Harris ahead of the general election comes after the former president and former first lady, Michelle Obama, headlined the second night of the Democratic National Convention in August in support of Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Simon said Obama’s effort to turn out the vote for Harris is the former president’s own attempt of maintaining “his own office,” explaining how he believes the 44th president has been “ruling” the Oval Office from the “basement” during the Biden-Harris administration.
“What [CNN] should have said was ‘Obama will help propel [Harris] to keep his own office,” Simon said on Friday’s edition of The Michael Patrick Leahy Show.
“Obama has told us that he prefers to rule from the basement. This will be his fourth term,” Simon added.
Simon went on to call Obama “one of the most dangerous figures in American history,” due to his effective communicative skills.
“Now, one thing we know about Kamala is she’s not a wordsmith. In fact, she can barely speak extemporaneously. However, giving the dog his due, Obama’s quite good at that. That’s what he does,” Simon explained.
“Obama is a real threat,” Simon added.
