The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred near the intersection of Grove Avenue and Susan Cove. On 9/19/24 at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers responded to this area and found Ryan Mills, a 41-year-old-man, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services where he succumbed to his injuries.
A male subject fled the area and was found in a nearby wooded area with a single self- inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital by Emergency Medical Services and is in stable condition. The male subject is currently in custody.
