Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly’s wife, Ginny Kelly, filed for divorce on Wednesday, according to a clerk in circuit court.
“Ginny and I are deeply saddened to announce that we have separated,” the mayor, 57, said in a joint statement with the first lady, 47. “We are incredibly thankful for the years we spent together and the great memories we made, and we are moving forward with nothing but love and respect for one another.”
The Kellys have been married for about 12 years.
Ginny Kelly was a prominent figure in her husband’s run for the mayor’s office in 2021 and has attended public functions with the mayor since his election. She introduced Kelly ahead of his September 2023 announcement that he would seek a second term as mayor in 2025.
