Florida voters rejected a measure to add abortion rights to the state constitution, the only one of 10 states with abortion measures on the ballot Tuesday to do so.
The Florida measure needed approval from 60% of the voters and fell short, keeping in place the state’s six-week ban on abortion.
The other nine states with abortion-related measures on their 2024 general election ballots were Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Nevada, and South Dakota.
Pro-abortion groups raised over $160 million—six times more than opponents—to promote ballot measures in those states, with most funds directed to ad spending in Florida’s high-stakes campaign.
