A late November storm packing snow, high winds, and frigid temperatures is expected to develop out of the Rockies on Tuesday and Wednesday of Thanksgiving week, potentially complicating holiday travel in some areas.
The storm will track north and sweep across the North Plains and Upper Mississippi Valley, delivering soaking rains, snow, 50-60 mph wind gusts, and freezing temperatures as far south as the Gulf Coast.
The storm will intensify over the Great Lakes Wednesday and Thursday, producing high winds that could knock down tree branches and take out power across the central and North Plains, Great Lakes, and Ohio and Tennessee valleys.
Toward week’s end, snow is possible across western Michigan and its Upper Peninsula, western New York, parts of the Ohio Valley, the northern mid-Atlantic, and the interior Northeast.
