FEMA Denies Anti-Trump Policy

FEMA Director Deanne Criswell appeared before House lawmakers on Tuesday and called for an investigation into why workers avoided homes of Trump supporters during Hurricane Milton relief efforts.

The House subcommittee questioned Criswell over claims that at least one senior FEMA official allegedly directed staffers to avoid homes displaying pro-Trump signs during relief efforts.

Criswell disputed claims that FEMA had a widespread policy to avoid pro-Trump homes, stating it was the isolated action of one employee who has since been terminated. She vowed to ask the Inspector General’s office to investigate.

In a Monday interview, fired FEMA employee Marn’i Washington claimed she was being framed, insisting she followed orders and did not create agency policy.
