State Senator Arrested for DUI

Georgia authorities have confirmed that State Sen. Ken Yager was arrested for driving under the influence following a hit-and-run incident. Yager is the Republican Senate Caucus Chair.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening around 5 p.m., according to officials from the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Troopers reported spotting a Ford Edge with Tennessee license plates that had been involved in a hit-and-run on Jekyll Island. The vehicle was identified as having a state-issued Senate tag.

Authorities said the SUV was found in the parking lot of Jekyll Market, where Yager was located. Troopers reported that Yager admitted to being involved in a crash.
