Trump to Issue Jan. 6 Pardons on “First Day”

President-elect Donald Trump said Sunday that he’ll pardon Jan. 6 defendants on his “first day” in office.

Trump addressed the pardons on an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, saying “I’m going to be acting very quickly” for defendants who have been “living in hell” since their incarceration.

Trump also said that U.S. House committee members who investigated the Jan. 6 event should “go to jail.”

Trump said he plans to investigate individual cases, and that there may be exceptions to pardons “if somebody was radical, crazy.”
