The results are in for the 2025 TN Legislative Survey

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this year’s legislative survey leading into the 114th General Assembly. We amassed 3,835 survey responses from ALL 95 counties in the state of Tennessee on a myriad of issues important to conservative voters.

I strongly encourage you to go and download the survey and take a look at the results for yourself. They are informative. Most importantly, use these results as you discuss these important issues with your elected officials.

Here are just a few of the highlights.

Top 5 issues for Tennessee voters: (1) Election Integrity, (2) Illegal Immigration, (3) Economy/Inflation, (4) 2nd Amendment, (5) Federal Overreach (It is worth noting that for the 2nd time in a row, Election Integrity ranks #1 in importance on our survey.)

On a scale from 0 to 100, voter confidence in the security of our elections in Tennessee ranks at 43. Additionally, 74% of survey respondents say ditch the voting machines and move to secure hand-marked paper ballots for all elections.

79% of Tennesseans believe that the General Assembly has not done all that it can do to curb illegal immigration in our state.

91% of survey respondents disagree with Governor Bill Lee’s continued push for subsidizing the electric vehicle industry in our state and call for all funding in this area to cease entirely.

In Tennessee, current law provides for an affirmative defense in the use of a firearm ONLY when used if your life or the life of someone else is in imminent danger. 88% of respondents want those legal protections expanded to include protecting private property.

82% of respondents believe that States have the sovereign authority to nullify unconstitutional actions of the federal government. And ONLY 7% of respondents agree with Attorney General Skrmetti’s assertion that only courts have the power to determine the constitutionality of federal actions.

Again, there is much more to the survey, and I encourage you to go and take a look at the results for yourself on all of the issues we surveyed. They are informative.

In summary, it is clear that Tennesseans support a strong view of States’ rights, want greater protection for individual liberties, and desire to see the General Assembly take a strong position against federal overreach.

I want to encourage you to reach out to your elected representatives with these results. But also, please know that we will be printing these reports and hand delivering them to every legislative office in January as the General Assembly convenes.

2025 Tennessee Stands Key Initiatives

  • We will advocate on over 100 bills in 2025 and see over 300,000 emails sent to the General Assembly through our website at tennesseestands.org. We continue to build a support team to accomplish this task.
  • The Tennessee Legislative Report Card at tnreportcard.org will be updated to include an in-depth view of political action committee expenditures and contributions.
  • In 2025, we will pilot a new online course with video instruction where Tennesseans can learn more about grassroots activism, a constitutional form of governance, the legislative process in Tennessee, and more. We hope to see some of this course adopted by the homeschool community.
  • In 2025, we are working to support two constitutional amendments regarding securing homeschoolers’ rights and individual medical freedom for Tennesseans.
  • … and there is more to come.
