Gov. Jim Pillen (R-Neb.) was hospitalized Sunday after being bucked off a horse, according to his office, which said he is “alert and is in continuous touch with his team.”
In a Sunday press release, Pillen’s office said he and family members were on horseback when he was bucked of a “new” horse.
Pillen was transported to Columbus Community Hospital, then later — “out of an abundance of caution” — was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
“The Governor is expected to remain at UNMC for several days,” Pillen’s office added.
