A Middle Tennessee teacher, Mia King, 24, was arrested after deputies discovered approximately three grams of cocaine, a long spoon with residue, and a rolled-up $5 bill in her open purse at Cheatham Middle School.
The sixth grade teacher came under investigation following an anonymous tip about drug use during lunch breaks, and the school resource officer observed signs of impairment while King was held in the principal’s office.
A spokesperson for the Cheatham County School District stated that King, an English teacher hired in 2023, had no prior issues before being fired on Monday following her arrest.
King was booked into the Cheatham County Jail later that afternoon
