The Vanderbilt University men’s basketball team was fined $250,000 by the Southeastern Conference (SEC) after fans stormed the court following its 76-75 victory over No. 6 Tennessee on Saturday.

The SEC confirmed that Vanderbilt had violated the league’s access to competition area policy, with the payment going to the University of Tennessee.

The incident marks Vanderbilt’s second offense under the SEC’s revised policy, which was updated during the conference’s Spring Meetings in 2023.

The first violation occurred in October when fans rushed the field after a historic football win over then-No. 1 Alabama.
