Three Tennessee colleges ranked nationally among the “54 Most Beautiful Campuses in the United States.”
The list from Condé Nast Traveler features Rhodes College in Memphis, the choice of 2 of my high school friends, noting its unique stone buildings that wrap up its central quad.
My father’s choice for me, the University of the South in Sewanee was also featured, highlighting its 13,000 acres in the Volunteer State’s mountains and Gothic buildings, such as its All Saints’ Chapel.
Vanderbilt University in Nashville also made the list, which mentions its “postcard-perfect Kirkland Hall, with its red-brick clock tower straight out of a doo-wop scene, as a stately backdrop to it all.”
