MUTH’S TRUTHS
(Chuck Muth) – Getaway Day. Heading back to the barn. Quick couple of things before hopping into the Land Yacht for the seven-hour drive back to Vegas…
1.) There is tension between Democrat Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannibizzaro and Democrat Assembly Speaker Steve “Donut Boy” Yeager which was ratcheted up due to Yeager’s embarrassing egg bill.
Of course, both are playing politics and angling for new jobs in 2026. Word is Cannibizzaro wants to run for attorney general and Donut Boy wants to run for Clark County Commission.
I’m guessing we haven’t seen the end of these two butting heads this session.
2.) As I noted a couple weeks ago, there’s increasing grumbling about leadership in the Assembly Republican Caucus.
Carson City insiders are not exactly thrilled with Minority Leader Greg Hafen or his two assistants, Assemblywoman Melissa Hardy and Assemblyman Greg Koenig.
Word in the hallways is that “shadow” Assembly Minority Leader Toby Yurek, the caucus’ Whip, is actually the “go to” guy if you want anything done.
If this keeps up, don’t be surprised if you see a mid-session coup.
3.) I want to thank the Mt. Rose Republican Women for having me speak at their dinner Wednesday night, where we also played a little “Love & Politics” as well.
