Thanking God for small miracles
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — If you applied in time for the deadline to have a Real I.D. from the state of Tennessee, there’s a chance your new physical I.D. won’t get there in time.
That’s due to a printing problem that delayed production.
‘The State of Tennessee’s printing facility faced a setback with one of its printers,’ Charmaine McNeilly, Tennessee’s Deputy Director of Communications, confirmed to our newsroom in an email.
But, McNeilly says,
We are back to full production and Tennesseans are now receiving their physical license within the projected 20 business days.
She says if someone applied for their Real I.D. and hasn’t gotten it by the May 7th deadline,
..the receipt that Tennesseans receive at a Driver Services Center or from a Driver Services Self-Service Kiosk will serve as their Interim ID.
Anyone who does not receive their new credential within 20 business days or who has questions about their new credentials or interim ID can contact the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security at 866-849-3548.
We apologize for any inconvenience the delay may have caused,’ McNeilly says. ‘We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide the prompt service Tennesseans expect.’
