Last night, Israel cut off the head of Iran’s nuclear program. In a preemptive strike the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) launched Operation Rising Lion to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities, ballistic missile sites and top military leaders.
WHAT SPARKED THE ATTACK
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) a UN-backed atomic watchdog voted through a resolution on Thursday declaring that Iran is not complying with its obligations regarding nuclear non-proliferation.
According to IAEA chief Mr. Grossi, Tehran has stockpiled 400 kilograms of highly enriched uranium.
This appears to be what sparked Israel’s “preemptive” strike since Iran was not negotiating in good faith.
BIBLE PROPHECY
A 2600-year-old prophecy predicts a coming disaster in the territory of ancient Elam which is along the western coast of Iran next to the Persian Gulf.
Jeremiah 49:35-39 says that there will be a time when the rulers of Elam will FIERCELY ANGER the LORD. What have they done to anger God?
Modern-day Iran’s leaders have been promising to destroy Israel since the Ayatollah Khomeini took power in 1979. Iran’s leaders support terrorist groups like Hezbollah, Hamas and Houthis which have been attacking Israel ever since October 7, 2023. But the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) is much stronger than Iran’s proxies. In 2003, Iran signed an arms agreement with Russia. Then Iran’s leaders began developing a nuclear program and one of its power plants is located in… you guessed it, Elam.
If you look at the map (above) you will see that the Bushehr nuclear plant just happens to be located in ancient Elam. Look at what the prophecy says.
Jeremiah 49:35: “‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the foremost of their might.”
“The bow” could be a launching system. In November, 2023, The Jerusalem Post reported that Iran unveiled the Fattah II, a hypersonic missile claimed to have the capacity to bypass the most advanced anti-ballistic missile systems of the United States and Israel, according to Reuters.” Iran claims that that this missile can travel 1,400 miles in 400 seconds traveling 15-times the speed of sound.
The “foremost of their might” might be referring to Iran’s nuclear weapon program that it has been trying to develop for years. Listen, God will not allow Israel to be destroyed now that the Jews are back in His land.
President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have both said that Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. The obvious reason why is because Iran would use to. The cold war with the Soviet Union never escalated because of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD). Both sides knew that a nuclear war would destroy both nations. Iran calls for Death to America and Death to Israel and if they had nukes, it is believed that they sacrifice their lives to destroy us.
Jeremiah’s prophecy states the the Persian people living in this part of Iran who survive will be forced to flee into the nations of the world.
Verse 36: “Against Elam I will bring the four winds
From the four quarters of heaven,
And scatter them toward all those winds;
There shall be no nations where the outcasts of Elam will not go.”
Based on the location of Iran’s nuclear facility, it’s possible that the nuclear fallout from an attack on Bushehr, could make the area uninhabitable.
Verse 37: “For I will cause Elam to be dismayed before their enemies
And before those who seek their life.
I will bring disaster upon them,
My fierce anger,’ says the Lord;
‘And I will send the sword after them
Until I have consumed them.”Verse 38: “I will set My throne in Elam,
And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord.”
The Iranian state media announced the death of the Revolutionary Guard’s chief Hossein Salami. Israel believes the chief of Iran’s military, Mohammad Bagheri, other members of the military’s top brass, and senior nuclear scientists were also eliminated in the IDF’s opening strikes on Iran.
Townhall’s Katie Pavlich reports that “the entire top command of the IRGC has been wiped out, including General Salami, General Gholamali Rashid, Dr. Tehraniji, and Fereydoun Abbasi. Quds Force Esmail Qaani has also been killed. Qaani replaced Qasem Solemani, who Trump took out during his first term. Nuclear scientists have also been killed.”
Verse 39: “But it shall come to pass in the latter days:
I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the Lord.”
Notice that this prophecy will be fulfilled in “the latter days.”
The bottom line: Only time will tell if this attack is a fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy. Nevertheless, this looks like God is using Israel to judge Iran for attacking Israel for years through proxies while it developed a nuclear bomb to destroy Israel. God’s word says Elam (Iran) will not succeed.
We should pray for the Iranian people who have suffered enough under the totalitarian rule of Iran’s wicked leaders.
