And here is MoveOn.org bragging about their involvement. MoveOn is funded, in part, by George Soros.
Dear MoveOn member,
This week could be the beginning of the end of Donald Trump.
Yesterday without a doubt the single biggest day of protests since Trump retook office.
Millions of us took to the streets at nearly 1,300 events in Washington, D.C., and all 50 states to make clear that we do not consent to Trump and Elon Musk destroying our country to benefit themselves and their billionaire buddies.
100,000 people in Washington, D.C. Massive crowds in New York, Minneapolis, and Seattle. And, just as critically, hundreds of smaller events, including all over red America, from Logan, Utah, to Tupelo, Mississippi, to Mitchell, South Dakota.
It was BIG. It was beautiful.
We were loud. We were powerful.
This mass mobilization comes just days after Senator Cory Booker spoke for more than 25 hours straight in the longest speech in Senate history to make clear that, as he said, “These are not normal times in America. And they should not be treated as such.”1
This week could be our turning point. But, Lynn, that’s entirely up to us, and what each of us does in these not normal times.
From here, MoveOn is planning to go big … and bigger … and bigger still. That’s what this moment and these unprecedented times demand. That’s how we’re going to stop our country’s very fast slide into authoritarianism. It’s going to take bringing ever more people into the movement, training them, equipping them with the tools to help organize their own communities, and, like today, being a critical part of a web of organizations helping to unite us all and bring us into the streets. That’s the work of MoveOn.
But, Lynn, this kind of organizing, while so urgent and essential, is also very resource intensive. Will you help us have the ongoing resources to make this week the beginning of the end of Trump by starting a $5 monthly donation?
Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month. (If you have saved your payment information with ActBlue, your donation will go straight through.)
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
Saturday did not come out of nowhere. The work started long before Trump even won last November, in critical scenario planning internally at MoveOn and with our allies.
Take MoveOn’s Action Community Training (ACT) program, which we launched early this year to provide resources to MoveOn members who are interested in organizing in their local communities. In the last month, the number of new organizers joining the program exploded. Take a look at the massive jump in people joining in March:

In March, we also had the biggest phone bank in MoveOn’s 26-year history.
But it’s going to take doubling and doubling again several times over these kinds of numbers to build a movement big enough and powerful enough to stop Trump’s tyranny.
Studies of social movements worldwide show that “no government has withstood a challenge of 3.5% of their population mobilized against it during a peak event.”2,3 It’s called the “3.5% rule.”4 It’s a relatively tiny percentage, really. We can get there. We started today.
The Women’s March in January 2017 is the largest single-day demonstration in U.S. history.5 Between 1% to 1.6% of the U.S. population participated in the Women’s March across hundreds of locations. Double or triple that scale would approach the 3.5% threshold.6
That’s our mission: doubling or tripling the size of the Women’s March and engaging 3.5% of the U.S. population in a massive protest to stop authoritarianism in America, which is here, at our doorstep, right now. That’s what we’re building to, because that’s what it’s going to take. Remember, tyranny cannot prevail over people who refuse to succumb to it.
We need your help to have the consistent financial resources to keep building and getting more and more people in the streets. Will you start a $5 monthly donation today to help out?
Yes, I’ll chip in $5 a month. (If you have saved your payment information with ActBlue, your donation will go straight through.)
No, I’m sorry, I can’t make a monthly donation.
Senator Booker said in his speech this week: “The power of the people is greater than the people in power.”7
Together, let’s prove he’s right.
Thanks for all you do.
