The push for an Article V constitutional convention (Con-Con), incorrectly referred to by some as a “convention of [the] states,” is one of the most serious threats to the Constitution that we face — and next year, state legislators across the country will consider resolutions applying for a disastrous Article V convention.
It’s imperative that we influence our legislators now, rather than waiting for the sessions to begin. To help better equip you and others with the truth — including the many pitfalls of an Article V convention — The John Birch Society is launching a new series of short educational videos about a Con-Con, titled our “Article V Academy.”
The short videos feature a single speaker and animations illustrating what the speaker is explaining. Their purpose is to bring viewers up to speed about a Con-Con — going from little or no knowledge about the topic all the way to having an advanced level of understanding. The videos will be broken up into three levels:
- Level 1: Understanding Article V (launching today, November 27)
- Level 2: Ready for Action (launching on December 4)
- Level 3: Mastery (launching on January 15)
The Article V Academy videos are bite-sized, ranging from two to six minutes each, with each one focusing on one specific area or question. You can start with any video, and at your own pace build your knowledge of the topic.
If there is an upcoming hearing in your state legislature for either a Con-Con resolution or a rescission resolution, we recommend that you watch the videos to familiarize yourself with the content before testifying.
Please use this tool (and our many other resources) to educate yourself and inform others — including your state legislators—about the dangers of an Article V constitutional convention, and about nullification as the genuine solution to federal overreach.
