Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, spoke at campaign events in Wisconsin and Michigan on Wednesday as part of a five-day battleground tour. Former President Donald Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, did the same—in reverse order.
Harris and Walz rallied together for the first time on Tuesday in Pennsylvania. After their stops in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Detroit, the pair will travel for the next three days for campaign stops in North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada. With the exception of North Carolina, where there isn’t yet enough data, Harris and Trump are polling within the margin of error of each other in each of these states, according to polling averages maintained by FiveThirtyEight.
The current whirlwind nature of the Trump and Harris campaign was on symbolic display on Wednesday, when the jets carrying Vance and Harris were on the same tarmac in Wisconsin. Vance surprised the press pool gathered for Harris by walking up to the scrum.
