Trey Howard, 10, is being hailed as a hero after shielding his younger sister from flying debris when a medical jet crashed in northeast Philadelphia last week.

Howard was with his father and siblings, picking up donuts, when the aircraft went down near their car. The child shielded his toddler sister from flying debris—a brave move that landed him in the hospital with a severe head injury.

After undergoing emergency brain surgery, his first words upon waking were, Daddy, did I save my sister? before expressing concern about missing the big game. The young boy, a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, had been eagerly anticipating the Super Bowl.

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey has already visited him in the hospital, and a GoFundMe for his recovery has raised nearly $127,000.
