Chattanooga pastor’s sermon sparks debate after comments on violence, Elon Musk

While I don’t like it….. the Right to Speak Freely should always be protected.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Part of a sermon from a Chattanooga pastor sparked a firestorm online due to his comments about Elon Musk and the Trump Administration.

One particular line from that sermon, ‘violence is necessary,’ was a point of concern for some.

Doctor Steve Caudle is the senior reverend at the Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church on Shallowford Road.

In a recent sermon, Doctor Caudle criticized players and organizations in the current Trump administration.

A clip from the sermon began circulating around social media.

In the video, Doctor Caudle said that sometimes ‘violence is the answer.’

“I pray that the peace of God will win out and overcome the madness that is attempting to take over this nation. And I’ll say to you beloved, no one likes violence, but sometimes violence is necessary… Sometimes the devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.”

Doctor Caudle also addressed Elon Musk and DOGE, saying…

“When Elon Musk forces his way into the United States Treasury and threatens to steal your personal information and your social security check there is the possibility of violence…”

A federal judge early Saturday blocked Elon Musk’s DOGE from accessing Treasury Department records that contain sensitive personal data such as Social Security and bank account numbers for millions of Americans.

In response, Elon Musk quote tweeted a video of the pastor, saying…

“This tells me that he is trying to hide MASSIVE fraud.”
