Colorado GOP Plan Targets $4,500 Family Savings

State Senate Republicans have introduced a legislative package that aims to reduce the average family’s annual expenses by $4,500. The proposals focus on housing, energy, groceries, and utilities.

Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen highlighted the measures as a response to rising living costs, which he attributed to “misguided policies” enacted by the Democratic majority in recent years.

Lundeen’s housing bill focuses on construction defects and affordability, proposing revisions to state laws that he claims could save people $2,900 annually. Other initiatives include repealing fees on deliveries, grocery bags, and energy assistance.

Transportation is also a key theme, with plans to roll back fees on gas and diesel fuel, passenger rides, and short-term vehicle rentals introduced under Senate Bill 21-260.
