Colorado OKs First Psychedelic Healing Center

Regulators have issued the state’s first-ever license for a psychedelic healing center to The Center Origin, a holistic wellness facility in Denver.

At the center, patients will be administered an agreed-upon dose of psilocybin—the psychoactive compound in psychedelic mushrooms—then undergo a supervised psychedelic journey.

The sessions last five to eight hours and cost around $3,500. They include a comfortable room, selected scents and music, and a clinical facilitator to act as a guide.

Though licensed, The Center Origin isn’t offering sessions just yet. Operations are on hold until Colorado approves its first psilocybin testing lab, expected later this year. Several other centers and providers are still awaiting licensure.
