A former Centennial daycare employee was arrested last month on 51 counts of child abuse and harassment, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday.
Brandon Vigil was reported by a teacher’s aide in 2024 for verbally abusing and striking a child. He now faces 28 counts of child abuse and 23 of harassment.
So far this year, three Colorado daycare centers have been shut down for reports of abuse, already exceeding last year’s total.
It’s not currently known where Vigil worked. Experts encourage parents to check the Colorado Department of Early Childhood website regarding childcare center closures or their involvement in adverse actions.
