Democrats Have An Alvin Bragg Problem

Alvin Bragg’s case against Donald Trump continues to fall apart in spectacular fashion as star witness Michael Cohen was caught repeatedly lying while on the stand yesterday. To start, Cohen claimed he had no desire to be in the White House when it was widely known in Republican circles that he was angling to be Trump’s Attorney General or White House Council. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is no fan of Trump, said on CNN that “literally dozens of GOP operatives could corroborate these claims.”

But what’s noteworthy about the prosecution’s choice to use Cohen is the degree to which he is compromised. Michael Cohen is a convicted felon with eight criminal counts against him and was sentenced to three years in prison. Cohen has been disbarred as a lawyer and clearly stated earlier this month that he wanted to see Trump convicted. The jury knows this is not a neutral or credible witness.

Bragg’s prosecution of Trump is a microcosm of the problem the left faces when they go after Trump. Progressives are so desperate to “get him” on something that they can’t get him on anything. They’ve thrown the proverbial spaghetti plate at the wall and nothing sticks but they keep coming back for more.

The larger problem is savvy Democrats knew this was going to happen. This particular case was so fundamentally flawed that other prosecutors refused to bring charges. Remember, when the details of this case were released last fall, media outlets quickly dropped it because the writing was on the wall.

But now the same thing is happening again. The most damning part of Cohen’s testimony yesterday was the deafening silence from Morning Joe. The outlet The New York Times describes as “comfort TV for liberals” has largely glossed over Cohen’s testimony signaling the problems ahead for Alvin Bragg.

As voters begin to key in on November, they will see that Alvin Bragg is prosecuting Donald Trump for attempting to block the public from knowing he made hush money payments to a porn star while Joe Biden is blocking the public through executive privilege from viewing a disastrous interview he had with Robert Hur. Both of these are political moves but only one is being prosecuted. Voters understand this. Watch:
