The Department of Justice has filed a motion to dismiss corruption charges against New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Adams has denied accusations that he took $100,000 in bribes from Turkish officials in exchange for favors or that he destroyed evidence in the case against him.

Several senior Justice Department officials refused to drop the case against Adams and eventually resigned in protest, including Acting Manhattan U.S. Attorney Danielle Sassoon—who claimed that the move is a quid pro quo in exchange for Adams’ cooperation with immigration enforcement.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said she may remove Adams from office but that she needs more time to consider the matter.
