(Chuck Muth) – OK, so there’s this dude pretending to be a gal playing volleyball on the WOMEN’S team for San Jose State University (SJSU). And because of that, four schools decided to cancel their games and not play against them/him.
Last weekend UNLV’s Lady Rebels were scheduled to play against SJSU. But did UNLV adminstrators come to the defense of its women players and join the boycott? No. They didn’t have the balls.
But what about the UNR Wolfpack, which is scheduled to play against the dude on October 26th?
Well, the school’s president is ex-governor Brian Sandoval, so what do you think?
On October 3rd, Sandoval’s administration released a statement that declared…
“The University of Nevada volleyball team…intends to play its remaining Mountain West schedule, including the match with San José State University on October 26.”
Like UNLV, no balls.
But the Wolfpack gals sure do!
And they were not happy campers about being thrown under the bus by the Sandoval administration without even discussing it with them. From an article published Monday on Outkick.com…
“Sia Liilii, a senior and one of two captains on the team, told OutKick that players were frustrated when they found out that the school had committed them to playing the match without speaking to them. ‘The school released that statement without consulting our team at all,’ Liilii said. ‘We were pretty upset that we were not made aware that a statement was going to come out.’”
And as the old saying goes, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.” So the players “voted unanimously” to release the following statement this past Sunday…
“We, the University of Nevada Reno women’s volleyball team, forfeit against San Jose State University and stand united in solidarity with the volleyball teams of Southern Utah University, Boise State University, the University of Wyoming, and Utah State University.
“We demand that our right to safety and fair competition on the court be upheld. We refuse to participate in any match that advances injustice against female athletes.”
BRAVO! BRAVO!
In light of the players’ statement, you’d think the Sandoval administration would inject itself with a little testosterone of its own and rally behind its players, right?
Wrong.
Instead, Sandoval’s administration released a follow-up statement…
“The players’ decision and statement were made independently, and without consultation with the University or the athletic department. The players’ decision also does not represent the position of the University. … The University intends to move forward with the match as scheduled…”
Shameful. Disgraceful. Sand-awful.
Riley Gaines, the All-American swimmer who was denied an award that was given to a dude competing against her, has become a national spokesperson for the fight to keep men out of women’s sports. She released her own statement…
“INSANE response from @unevadareno after the women’s volleyball team decided to forfeit their match against SJSU. This is the intimidation & emotional blackmail that girls face when they stand up for themselves. Hold the line, girls. We’re all behind you! BOYcott.”
And Hall of Fame football coach Lou Holtz weighed in…
“I can’t believe we’re even debating whether biological men, identifying as women, should be allowed to compete in women’s sports! What happened to the country I love – a nation that was always rooted in fairness?”
Added Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo…
“The student athletes at the University of Nevada, Reno have determined that they do not want to play against San Jose State, and I wholeheartedly respect the decision of the players. No student athlete should ever be pressured to play a game where they don’t feel safe – period.”
Joe Lombardo is no Brian Sandoval!
And, of course, that got under the thin skin of twinkie blogger Jon Ralston, whose kid is a trans. He slammed Lombardo on X for “giving cover to the people in his party fostering hatred and intolerance.”
Oh, horsesh*t. Nobody “hates” the dude. They just think he should be competing against fellow dudes, not girls. He needs to man-up.
“UNR, led by the last GOP gov, stood up against players inflamed by misinformation,” the fake news purveyor continued. “The governor did not have to say anything; I wish he hadn’t.”
What “misinformation”? The dude is a dude, and the girls decided not to compete against him and risk getting hurt…like this girl. Click here to watch her statement about the injuries she suffered.
So…up yours, Ralston.
And then there are the blackmailers at the ACLU. In response to the players’ decision not to compete in their match against SJSU, the organization’s executive director posted this threat on Twitter/X…
“You forgot the part where we’ve promised a pathway to bankruptcy for any government entity in Nevada that decides it wants to discriminate against trans students.”
Up yours, too, ACLU.
By the way, UNLV is scheduled to play SJSU again, at home, on November 7th. Do you think they’ll get with the program and do the right thing? I won’t be holding my breath.
This whole controversy is just plain stupid. I mean, even kids get it. Remember this scene in Kindergarten Cop?
And if you don’t mind a little profanity, watch this video clip by comedian Ricky Gervais. It’s hilarious and exposes the absolute insanity of the Sandovals and Ralstons and ACLUs of the world.
