Firefighter Slater Lee’s tender rescue of a scared dog named Max during the raging Eaton Fire in Altadena, California, captured hearts across the internet.
As flames engulfed Max’s home, the 60-pound dog barked fearfully from the front yard. Lee, battling the fire with one hand, put the other out toward Max. Slowly, the dog came closer.
Thanks to Lee’s actions and the help of others, Max was safely reunited with his family. See photos here.
