HISTORY LESSON: The videos below show that austerity attempts were tried by Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama to cut the waste and the size of the government workforce. But President Donald Trump’s DOGE is actually getting it done.
In 1993, President Clinton proposed the Reinventing Government or REGO Report to cut wasteful spending and 12% of the Federal workforce.
In 2011, President Obama introduced his Campaign to Cut Waste, saving $3 billion in information technology, shutting down duplicative data centers and getting rid of excess federal real estate. Obama even said that he had a pen and a phone and wouldn’t wait on the legislative branch.
There’s an old saying that if you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that yelps is the one that got hit. So it is with the Democrats who are yelping about DOGE cutting government waste. The cuts must be hitting them where it hurts.
Exodus 22:7 – “If anyone gives a neighbor silver or goods for safekeeping and they are stolen from the neighbor’s house, the thief, if caught, must pay back double.”
The people who profited off of taxpayers’ money through fraud or abuse, should have to “pay back double.”
