Now in 2024, Kamala Harris is promoting federal price controls to stop the price gouging food industry which averages less than 2 percent profits. Former President Trump immediately called Harris a communist. He wasn’t alone.
Catherine Rampell at The Washington Post scoffed, “If your opponent claims you’re a ‘communist,’ maybe don’t start with an economic agenda that can (accurately) be labeled as federal price controls.”
In his 1996 State of the Union speech, President Clinton declared that “the era of big government is over.” But that wasn’t true. The government has continued to grow out of control and now we have a presidential candidate who is not hiding her Marxism.
