If you’re new to Views From The Right, you might be interested to know that I have an interest in Bible prophecy and I write about current events from a Biblical perspective. For 25 years I taught an adult Bible Study Class at a Baptist Church. I’m no expert but I like to teach what I learn so here’s an interesting connection for today.

Israel has destroyed Hamas, decimated Hezbollah and eliminated Syrian’s military. So what is next?
After a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Israel and America stand shoulder-to-shoulder in countering the threat of Iran. We agreed that the ayatollahs must not have nuclear weapons, and we also agreed that Iran’s aggression in the region has to be rolled back. Over the last 16 months, Israel has dealt a mighty blow to Iran’s terror axis. Under the strong leadership of President Trump and with your unflinching support, I have no doubt that we can and will finish the job.”
Prophetic view: Ezekiel 38-39 prophesies about the war of Gog and Magog and one of the conditions is that Israel must be dwelling safely in the land. But Israel has not lived in peace and safety since it became a nation 77 years ago, on May 14, 1948.
“After many days you will be called to arms. In future years you will invade a land that has recovered from war, whose people were gathered from many nations to the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate. They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.” – Ezekiel 38:8
Ezekiel wrote this 2,600 years ago. Notice that it says, in the future when the Jews are gathered from many nations TO the “mountains of Israel which had long been desolate.”
This has to be talking about our time in history. The land of Israel was desolate as recently as the 1800s according to Mark Twain’s book, The Innocents Abroad, written in 1867. But 80 years later, Israel regained its land back and millions of Jewish people have moved back to the land of Israel, just as Ezekiel said.
Now look at this verse:
“But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3
Israel will never truly live in peace and safety until Jesus returns and sets up His kingdom. But it says that Israel will live in a temporary peace before the Gog and Magog war. As we witness Israel defeat its enemies, current events may lead to Israel’s peace and safety which may lead to Bible prophecy being fulfilled. – GV
