Dr. Anthony Fauci was grilled Monday by a GOP-led congressional committee investigating the government’s pandemic response in his first public appearance since he retired 18 months ago.
Republican committee members questioned Fauci about the origin of Covid-19, accusing him of blocking investigations into the theory that the virus leaked from a Chinese lab.
Democrats on the committee defended Fauci’s actions, calling him a hero.
